This game was written by Zdenda (Zdeněk Zubr). He took the game Montezuma's Revenge (by Utopia Software) as a reference.
In FLOP 66, we brought you the first version, which took place entirely on a single screen.
The second version, which we're offering now, brings new elements, but most importantly it has grown to a full 40 screens (called levels).
The game is shipped on a separate executable disk (C). Basic have to be switched off!
It is a single player game and is controlled with a single joystick.
From the title screen, the game is started with the START key.
The player controls a guy (named Pedro in the original game), who initially goes down the pole. The aim of the game is to get to the last (40th) screen.
At the top of the screen we see the abbreviated name of the game (ZDENDAZUMA). Below it, the number of lives (including the current one!) is displayed in the form of hats.
In the middle of the top panel we find the screen number (level) and the number of swords held (sword). The points earned are displayed in the rectangle on the right.
Items can be collected in the game that bring benefits to the player:
Various dangers stand in Pedro's way:
If Pedro falls into the fire, he will lose a life and return to the point where he entered the current screen.
However, the game behaves differently when it comes into contact with another dangerous obstacle. If the player has a sword, one is dropped. If the player has no sword, the player loses one life. The obstacle he touched also disappears. However, the player remains in the same place or continues to move. Several swords or lives can be lost in one jump.
There are even places in the game that cannot be passed without destroying dangerous obstacles. It is therefore advisable to always keep a supply of swords.
One final recommendation. Before leaving the room, make sure you have collected all the required items. This is because when you return to the room, all gems, swords and some keys will be gone. On the other hand, all the enemies that you have taken down will be back.
The game ends if the player loses his last life.
If you have made it into the top ten, congratulations will appear and the computer will prompt you to enter your name. This is done using the joystick. Finally, you need to press OPTION.
Then, the high-score table will appear. A new game can be started by pressing the START key.
