We provide an overview of various anniversaries, related to the Atari companies and products.

In doing so, we stem from i.a. the overview of Atari History In Dates, which you can find in FLOP 63.

So what do we remember regarding Atari in 2022?

years of ATARI !!!

Yes, it is true. On June, 27th it was half a centure since the moment, when Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney started their business in arcade (coin-op) video games. Because the name Syzygy, which they would like to use, was not free, they chose the name ATARI, INC for their corporation.

Some Atari machines also have anniversaries:

• Atari Pong (original arcade game) - 50 years since market launch;
• Atari 2600 (CX-2600, 6 switches) - 45 years since market launch;
• Atari 5200 - 40 years since market launch;
• Atari XE Game System and 800 XE - 35 years since market launch;
• Atari XF 551 - 35 years since market launch;
• Atari Mega ST - 35 years since market launch;
• Atari PC-1 - 35 years since market launch;
• Atari ST Book - 30 years since market launch.

Beside that, we also have some local anniversaries:

• TURBO 2000 (J. Richter, 1987) - 35 years since public release;
• SatanDisk (M. Nohaj, 2007) - 15 years since market launch.

And we also remember several personal anniversaries:

• Ted Dabney (* 1937-05-02), co-founder of the first ATARI, INC. would be 85 years old;
• Jack Tramiel (+ 2012-04-08), founder and president of Atari, Corp. has died 10 years ago;
• Ray Kassar (+ 2017-12-10), president of the second ATARI, INC. has died 5 years ago.

So let's remember them. Without them, Atari would not be as we know it.
